Last week we did a post comparing TuneCore to CD Baby. As we said, the two sites have some similarities and some differences. Since TuneCore is a newer site, we are still learning more about it.
Eric Herbert over at Evolvor did a pretty good job of laying out the basics of TuneCore. While most of this is covered in TuneCore’s information pages, Eric has put it all together in one spot.
The Music Marketer has also done a post about TuneCore in which they chronicle actually testing the service. If you’re interested in signing up with TuneCore, it’s a good idea to check it out these sites first.

They are actually very different services. CD Baby sells your actual CDs, as in, you have to get them made and send them the physical CDs. Tuncore, on the otherhand, takes care of the paperwork and hosting involved in getting your music on iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, and other online services. They also have a partnership with a company that can help you produce actual cds.
They are both very important in your promotion efforts, and both companies are very nice to work with.
The people at CD baby are the best ever!

That’s what I said in my last Post.
