Myspace Music has become the starter site for bands trying to have an online presence. There’s a good reason, everyone and their mother is on Myspace and a Myspace Music profile is free (you’ll still need a regular website, but that’s another post). There are a lot of benefits to having a Myspace Music profile. For starters, you can upload your songs for the public to sample, list all the details for your upcoming shows, post news on your blog, post bulletins on the bulletin board and post pictures. The best part is that you can keep all your friends (or fans) in the loop as to what is going on with your band. Another interesting feature is that Myspace Music has teamed with a company called Snocap to set online music stores for artists with Myspace Music profiles. When you set up a store, you have an option to display it on your profile page. You also get HTML code that you can paste anywhere on the web to display you store.

We’ll cover how you can use your Myspace Music profile to promote your band in another post, but if you have pictures, tracks and the time to do it, sign up for a profile and start adding your friends now.
